The government will soon settle the Bonde Internal Displaced Persons in their land that was purchased by the government some years ago.
A group of 116 former internally displaced families were settled on a piece of land at Bonde area in Trans Nzoia east as they wait for the demarcation of the land.
The government purchased the land for the group which were evicted from Berur in Saboti Constituency during the 2007/2008 post election violence.
Their Chairman Reuben Kebo Lokhale said each family has been waiting to get its individual portion on the four pierces of land totaling 352 acres.
Mr.Kebo called for calm among the community of Bonde farm saying the recent election that took place on 11/2/2019 to replace him as the Chair was illegal.
He added that the election had no meaning because the said piece of land will be soon subdivided to members. Out of 82 members only 13 voted for Mr.John Chesebe ”Live in peace every individual will get his her piece of land” said Mr.Kebo
Mr.Kebo asked the government to speed up the settlement as promised,the 1162 families have temporary structures like slums.
