Government to make 152 Youths Empowerment Centers operational in every county.

The national government through the State Department for Youth is in the process of establishing 152 Youth Empowerment Centres in every county.

According to the statement issued by the Principal Secretary Francis Owino, the centres will help address youth challenges that includes; HIV AIDS prevention, guidance and counseling on drugs and substance abuse, inadequate capacity and access to ICT services, positive leisure, nurture youth talents, recreation among other issues affecting youths.

He said the centres will also help youths by providing services and information that is required to them.

 Speaking when he launched the first center in Mwatate,Taita Tavata County, Owino said the centre will provide opportunity for youths to participate in e-learning and e-commerce through the Ajira Digital Programme.
